American Idol Season 8: See How American Idol Transforms

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

American Idol is back! The 8th season of American Idol is here to once again bring fun, laughter, drama, and inspiration to aspiring American Idol participants. American Idol Season 8 begins January 13, 2009.

American Idol Season 8

The singing contest remained America’s No. 1 program last season, but saw a decrease of viewership averaging about 28 million weekly viewers vs. 31 million of the previous years of American Idol. Those behind American Idol express confidence that its drawing power remains strong, but they’re changing the procedure to freshen it and keep the sliding trend to a minimum.

Executive producer Ken Warwick admits that the ratings probably will “drop a bit” again this season. But a major overhaul was not considered, his former co-producer Nigel Lythgoe has left to dedicate his time to the amazing “So You Think You Can Dance” and the dreadful “Superstars of Dance.”

Dedicated viewers who will tune in the American Idol Season 8 will easily spot differences in the presentation and faces — most notably with a new judge, Grammy-nominated songwriter-producer Kara DioGuardi, joining the original trio of Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul.

DioGuardi has since racked up a slew of songwriting hits for the likes of Christina Aguilera (Ain’t No Other Man), season 1 American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson (Walk Away), and Ashlee Simpson (Pieces of Me). She admits her first love is still singing, making her in touch with the contestants she now judges.

And now, 7th American Idol’s rock star David Cook is releasing his new album on November 18, 2008. Hundreds of Cook fans got a sneak peek at his complete album on Thursday, and they just couldn’t stop talking about it.

David Cook worked together on the new album with Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo, (Green Day and Kid Rock). “Light On” was co-written by rocker Chris Cornell, Audioslave lead singer, Soundgarden, and much-admired producer-songwriter Brian Howes. The single is presently available at all digital music providers.

In behalf of David Cook’s victory, some say that he hasn’t been rocking all that much. Rock fans were disappointed when they found out that his new album is mostly composed of love songs and not rock. Some even thought that he would not choose to sing such nonsense of his own free will.

For die-hard fans of the American Idol champ, on the other hand, they promise to support their idol no matter which path he takes on his music career. And to sympathize with them, we also support David Cook on his upcoming album with this rocking David Cook Myspace Layout that we prepared especially for his fans!
